Te Ao Maori

Is

calling you?

If you're feeling a gentle yet profound tug in your heart, a whisper in your soul that speaks of ancient wisdom and vibrant culture, know that you're not alone. This calling, subtle yet unmistakable, is one we've felt deeply.

For me, it was more than just a whisper; it was a heartfelt summons from my ancestors, a beckoning to embrace my roots and pass on the legacy of Te Reo Maori. This call stirred within me, igniting a passion and a responsibility to carry forward the rich tapestry of my heritage.

Thus, Te Kakano was born – not just as a school, but as a living bridge connecting us to our past, and paving a path to a future rich in Maori language and traditions. This sacred space has been co founded with my cousin Te Huinga a Te Reo Maori specialist, fluent in 26 dialects. Together, we don't just teach; we celebrate the essence of Te Ao Maori, nurturing each seed – each 'kakano' – with love, respect, and a deep sense of community.

At Te Kakano, we're more than just a school; we're a community passionately dedicated to the revitalization of Te Ao Maori. Our journey began with a call from our ancestors, a call to share and celebrate the beauty of Te Reo Maori.

Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to deepen your connection, we're here to guide and grow with you. Our mission is to empower you to embrace and embody the essence of being Maori in today's world, through the rich language and traditions of our forebears.

Join us in this heartfelt journey of learning and connection. Let's keep the voice of our ancestors alive in every word we share.

Why I created

Te Kakano

My story weaves across the seas from Australia to the heart of Aotearoa, a journey deeply rooted in a sense of belonging to a land I never grew up in. As a psychic medium, my childhood was enveloped in the presence of spirits – my ancestors. They were my mentors, teaching me about our Maori heritage and nurturing my spiritual gifts.

Through Te Kakano, I'm channelling this ancestral wisdom to stand up for our culture and heritage, ensuring our traditions and language flourish for future generations. It's more than just a school; it's a testament to the resilience and beauty of Te Ao Maori, a sanctuary for those seeking to reconnect with their roots.

Witnessing many Maori lose touch with our mana in foreign lands, and the struggles back in New Zealand has only deepened my resolve. Te Kakano is my response – a stand for our culture, our heritage, and a tribute to our ancestors who have guided me every step of the way. It's more than a school; it's a sanctuary where we come together to strengthen, learn, and celebrate the essence of Te Ao Maori.

If you feel called to I invite you to join me on a deeper exploration of this journey. Together, let's embark on a path of discovery, learning, and celebration of our rich Maori heritage.
